My starboard hull hisses when I remove the drain plug. At the same time though I can usually drain a pint or two of water out at the end of a day of sailing. I guess my vent holes are blocked. I wonder how the hull can be air tight and not watertight? I really don't want to take my boat apart to unblock the vents right in the middle of the season. How harmful is this pressure? I keep the boat on the beach but without the drain plugs in. |

Don't worry about it. I had a '98 16 for 9 years that did that, although it didn't leak hardly at all. You might be overestimating the amount of water that comes out, too. Just make sure to keep the plugs out when the boat's not in the water. |
