Post subject: | Another Golden Hobie |
One of the guys in the hobie fleet out of Des Moines has a mature Golden Retriever that must weigh 125lbs named 'Hobie' as well. He raced with Hobie on the boat more than once and did well both times. If I can get a picture to add I will. |

Post subject: | Boat Dog |
I have a Golden Retriver who cant stand to be left alone, when i sail off the beach with him with me he will try to swim after me so i started just taking him along for the ride on my sunfish, he didnt like heeling too much as he couldnt find anything to hold onto on the slick deck, so i got him a set of snow boots which greatly improved his traction on the slick deck. now when i say tack he ducks untill the boat is sailing again then gets back up and is fine untill we sail past a crab pot, which he must think i want real bad b/c i have to go pick him up off of the pot to keep him from drowning himself, boat dogs are great. |

Hobie has that same problem - swimming after the '16 when I leave the beach. Not always a great idea. He's been on the boat before - in fact, we managed to storm the dog beach by approaching on the boat from the water which allowed us to avoid the entrance fee charged at the gate. Not bad not bad. Probably impressed the other dogs when we landed and Hobie jumped off. He's got his own dot now - check it out: http://www.hobiedog.com |
