Post subject:  Trouble with Earl Dame?
I have awaiting a new trampoline from Earl Dame that is now over a month overdue. I am in the UK and about a month ago he said he had sent it and it must be stuck in customs.

However since then he has repeatedly ignored my emails and I have no other contact details for him. I don't even have the courier details to help me trace the package.

It has got to the stage where I have to assume he has not sent the tramp and has stolen my money as I have not heard from him for a month.

Does anyone have any contact details for him like telephone number?

Any ideas how I can resolve this? :(

I also waited a long time for my tramp. I believe he goes away for the summer (Costa Rica?). Hard to reach in the summer. Tramp was finally received and is great!

Hello I am from Germany, I ordered 3 tramps (for 3 different people). 2 arrived and 1 is missing. The US Parcel Service should have lost it, he said. I am waiting since April.

He has repeatedly ignored my emails and I don't know what to do now. Any ideas? :evil:

Besides the fact that there are some problems receiving the ordered item...

How are the trampolines - what kind of reputation do they have? What about the stitched vs. welded option.
Who has some experience with other brands / manufacturers (bias cut, one pice, original hobie, aftermarket)

Post subject:  Standard vs. aftermarket?
Welded vinyl trampolines have proven themselves to be the longest lasting and easiest to maintain. As well, the standard white ones are not expensive. Remember the resale value issues related to class legal rules.

Mesh vinyl tramps are now in Black, Blue, Turquoise and for 2005 Grey (smoke).

hmmm... resale value is not really my concern when it comes to my 19 year old Hobie cat. Neither does conformity with class rules worry me too much - the kind of racing that I might engage in over the next years, I would be surprised if someone would point out the lack of a OEM trampoline. I actually keep the fingers crossed (and the Hobie garaged) that the hulls will not delaminate - something that seems to happen to most older Hobie 16's. I just try to find some type of trampoline, which has some reasonable cost vs. durability ratio. Preferably the mesh style type.

The advantages of the mesh are you won't be sitting in a puddle of water not to mention the fact the tramp won't act as another sail in a high wind and cause you to tip. As far as durability goes I'm not sure. On my first cat that was built around 74, came with a black mesh tramp that stayed in tact up into the late 80's but I can't say the same for the solid tramp that came on my Hobie 14.
