How much does a steel trailer for a hobie 16 weigh? Just want to know if my car can tow it.
Thanks,
CP

Depends on the construction. But 300 - 350 lbs is a good estimate.

If you're on the edge of whether your car can tow it (i.e. a small 4 cylinder), you might want to do a weight check with a bathroom scale. Is it an aluminum or steel trailer? My trailer is a farily heavy steel channel and I'm pretty sure it weights more in the 500 to 600lb range (it is quite sturdy though). Unless you've got a really beefy trailer, the boat and trailer will probably weigh 1000lb or less, which is within most vehicle's towing capacity.

If in doubt, record the weight reading under each wheel as well as under the tongue, add them all together, and you'll have the total weight.
