Post subject:  jib shackle tensile strength

hey! anybody know the apporpriate tensile strength for shackles that hold the front stay standing and running rigging/jib sail?

i'm thinking of a mod for my somewhat modded h16: most h16s have a double plate with a pin that holds the standing rigging, and then a shackle that holds the jib sail when hoisted. i have a jib furler with only one plate sticking out the top, so at the moment i have one shackle for the standing rigging, and then a second shackle attached to the first that holds the jibsail when rigged. i'd like to simplify this by replacing both shackles with one stainless steel clip/caribiner. this makes attaching the jib sail very easy and fast (i do the same with the jib sheets). i have one that fits perfectly through the plate, but don't know what strength is necessary for this connection. any ideas?
