Post subject:  adding mast rake

This is an 87 with all orginal hardware etc.
Image This is the maxium rake it has and the main blocks are sheeted all the way in. I have searched a lot on mast rake and am trying to figure out if I can or should add more. Can you just double up the bridle shroud adjuster to get more rake? Do you have to adjust the holes you use on the side shrouds if you add rake and how do you know how much to change them?

I enlarged your photo to see some of the detail. Nice boat!!! If you're not racing, don't worry about it. If you are racing, you need more rake. Block to block is generally acceptable when sheeted in tight. The photo below displays the rake on my boat and the main isn't sheeted in at all. The benifit, being able to point higher. For my boat, it also seems to lower the propensity to pitch-pole while sailing down wind. Maybe that's just in my head. :?

You'll probably get better info from others that might respond to your thread.
