Where i live the winds are light. Usually 5-10 ocassionally 10-15 on a good day. I want to put a spinaker or hooter on my boat but cannot afford it. I was thinking about maybe buying a roller furling h18 (or possibly bigger) jib sail and use it as an additional genoa-like headsail. Attatch a spin pole to the boat and have the two jibs rigged to the spin pole. I would use it in light winds and with both other sails (m/j) up. Would i able to rig the boat like this for less than a spinaker Would it be worth it (in terms of additional power) Would it work (3 sails at once) |

During this time of year, you'd be better off launching from Long Beach where the winds are closer to 15 - 25. |
