After my first run with my used Hobie 16 I noticed that the tramp post bolts had cracked teflon nuts. I replaced these with stainless nuts and lock washers. Will this harm anything?

Stainless is the standard these days.

Just don't crank down on them. Too much torque and you'll crack the castings.
