Hi, i just purchased a H16 and on the mast is a black fabric with foam or something in it this is screwed to the mast its about 5 ft long and is only on the front of it wraps around the front half of mast.Never seen one of these before is this something that was made yrs ago as a mast float theres nothing wrong with it just curious if thats what it is. |

There used to be a mast float that went around the upper section of the mast. I've never seen one, but it sounds like what you're describing, so that's probably what it is. sm |

Yep, sounds like the mast float system was what was available before the Bob's came along. This will cause some air flow issues over the sail and the volume of the float is not fully in effect until the mast is deep into the water. |
