The lower triple slides up the mast track when we pull on the DH with any authority.
Didn't you suggest putting a self-tapping screw above it?
Can't find your solution via search engine.

When I installed my downhaul I carefuly filed a small notch on the sides of the slot where the bracket will rest. Evenly on both sides and tapered from the bottom up to a square stop at the upper end. The taper is about 1/4" to 3/8" long and the stop is only as deep a the bracket is thick (1/32" to 1/16"). Then I took the bracket and bent the upper tang slightly so as to match the tapers and rest against the notches. I used lock-tite (blue) thread lock compound on the threads of the machine screws and square nuts. As long as the screws stay tight, the bracket should not be able to jump out of the notch and move up. I have cranked on mine and it has never moved. I can't remember where I saw it but I got this from somewhere on the blogs. It might have been from Mr. Bounds.

Use a file to flatten out the area on the mast where the plate is attached. Gives it more surface area to hold on to.

If that doesn't hold it, then file a small notch (~1 mm) at the top of the flat area you filed on the mast, then slightly bend the very upper end of the plate so that it engages the notch when it's all assembled. It will never move again.
