I was taught to really reaf on the jib halyard when rigging, could this cause excess strain on the hulls via the bridle causing a compression delamination on the hull deck. I.E. Hobie soft spots. Thanx, -Mike- sail# 43458 |

Cause? Probably not. Make worse? Almost certainly. The soft spots that appear forward of the pylons are caused by 1) using that area of the boat as a step to get on / off and 2) it's the part of the boat that gets the most sun exposure. |
