Is there a substantial diff between a 1982 H16 and a 1996 H16? |

Superficially, no, but there have been a lot of minor changes to the boat that make a huge difference in ease of use: - Rake adjustable rudder castings - Integrated traveller tracks - Boat is at least 20 lbs lighter - One-piece gudeons (maybe, can't remember when they became standard) - Hobie 20 style tiller connectors - Low profile mainsheet system - Longer forestay / shorter shrouds allow more mast rake - Mast step changed to allow more mast rake - Sails are way better constructed - Comptip That's a short list off the top of my head. Not to mention, that a '96 has 14 years less wear than an '82. - |
