I am going to this regatta for the first time... for that matter it will be my first regatta ever. Has anyone been to this one? What can i expect? Any tips? My brother who will be my crew says he is going to shave his legs to make us faster...Will this work? any advice is appreciated. one more question, we are bringing to 16's down from Cincinnati, we want to double stack them. any tips on this would be greatly appreciated. P.S. is anyone from this forum going? it is the 11,12,13 of september. Thanks Glenn |

I'll be there....Juana's is a blast! Typically Saturday is a distance race down toward Pensacola, and Sunday is windward/leewards near the bar. My wife & I watched this regatta from the beach in '07 and is the sole reason we decided to get a sailboat. Sailing had never even crossed our minds before, but watching all the boats out on the water my wife said "we need to get one of those!" 1 month later, we did! My best advice is: Make sure you get some key lime pie from Sailor's Grill next door to Juana's! It's world-class good. |
