Post subject:  Soft Hull Thoughts
Soft Hull Thoughts?

I was intending to repair the soft hulls of my H16 just in front of the front phylons using the method described in the Forum with GIT ROT. Someone suggested cutting some of the area out and install a hatch. Good idea or not? I'm thinking if it is structarally soft already this could make it worst? Help!!!!!!

I would avoid the hatch idea. Not a good "fix" and complicates the injection process.

Soft Hulls can be really dangerous.

Yeah the two of us who sail it know exactly how dangerous it is. We had 3 bodies on it one day, 1 of whom was hiking out in a diaper, on a day when the wind was steady 25 kts gusting to lower 30s. The tension on the windward hull cause the hull to buckle and snap inward. We were pretty far out in Lake Huron, in the shipping channel to be exact, when it happened, but we made it back no problem with all limbs intact :D
