Good news, Josh! Thanks for sharing. I just (today) picked up a Hobie 16 w/ trailer. Mine is a 1978 model in pretty darn good condition. Hope to see you on the water! Nick |

Congratulations- 80's and early90's boats have a different jib sheet system, latest models have the system Nigel mentioned. Newer models have Harken cleats instead of the older(and I believe inferior) Seaway cleats, and also Harken mainsheet systems. I have an'84 16 , personally, I like the earlier jib sheet system like yours better. I upgraded to the late model mainsheet system (well worth it!) and Harken cleats as the springs in the old ones let go- I'm no longer able to find replacements. Hobie used to stock them but they no longer list in the parts catalog. Oh- earlier boats, I think pre '82 did'nt have the adjustable (for rudder rake) lower rudder castings. Have fun!!!!!!! Dave |

Hey, Josh! Did you get a trailer with yours? If so, did you get any info on securing the boat to it, etc. My boat's previous owner never towed it any where and had no idea how it worked. Any info? Nick |
