My hobie is old but since when are kites allowed? And by the way, is there a way to put one on an old boat? They're fast already, I could just imagine ![]() |

Post subject: | Spinnakers |
Spinnakers have been available for all the cats for years. There is a kit in the catalog for adding one to a 16. No difference in age. Class racing does not allow spinnakers. Handicap racing has an adjustment for them. |

that explains alot, this boat was sold to us as a class boat. We modified it a little, we've got triple trap, I might needanother to hold it down though. How much can I expect to pay for this kit? I want one and was wonder if I could make it, I've got access to all the tools of a marine yardand the sailcloth (complete with sailmaker), think its possible??? |

Post subject: | You could do it |
You could do it. There is a lot to it though. As I recall, a production spinnaker kit is between $1,000 and $1,500 dollars I think. That would be Spinnaker, pole, snuffer, lines, blocks all included. |
