Question, Because I just finally got a trapeze set-up for my H16.

SO, in the mast tang, there are 3 holes, what atttaches to each hole?!?

Is it forestay tothe top hole, and trapeze wires to the bigger middle hole, then the third hole is just a back up?!?

If someone has a picture with their trap hooked up to it that would be flippin sweet, thanks everyone!!

(you can email me a pic at [email protected])

To add to this also, what side of the shroud should the crew be on when trapezing?

And the captain?

Thanks!

Shrouds and forestay attach to the lowest hole using a large shackle (20700001). Trap wires attach to a smaller shackle(1070000) that weaves into the upper two holes, so that the pin of the shackle passes through the topmost hole and the body of the shackle passes through the center hole. The shroud and forestay goes from port to stbd: shroud, forestay, shroud. Then the traps go two on each side.

Someone's got a pic I'm sure.
Hope that helps.

That helps tremendously, you explained it well enough that I don't think I even need a pic! Thanks!

One thing, then, I am still confused... If i have a single trapeze and I am sailing with someone, should that person trapeze out in front of the shroud?

Then if I am by my self, and I try to trapeze, I stay to the back of the boat behind the shroud, is that right?

Thanks again!

It's usually easiest for the crew to go out from behind the shroud, then move forward if they need to (lighter air, flatter water).

Unless you have an extra-long tiller (like from a 17), then the driver is limited to how forward they can get by the length of the tiller and their arms.

Fore/aft weight placement is usually "as far forward as you dare, without pitchpoling". You trap further back in waves to keep the leeward bow from digging into waves.
