I am relatively new to the Hobie world and I need help with deciding what to do in regards to a righting line. Currently I have a rope attached to the dolphin striker, wrapped around the pylons with a about 4 feet of slack tied up in pull out knots for me to pull on... I haven't yet attempted using this as I have been cautious in sailing this beast until I have a more proven righting system. I have seen and read about a lot of different things, but they are hard to fathom without descent pictures... I was wondering if people could post some pictures of their rightling lines and give me some explanations as to how they are attached and used. Thanks so much for your help everyone!! |

Your righting system is fine. It's the same thing I use on my 16 and 18. One good suggestion from other members here if you don't have tramp pockets already sewn on is to attach a zippered tramp bag under the tramp near the front cross bar and stow the righting line in there. |

I really like the stretchy ones that some of the hobie dealers sell. It stays stretched around the pylons and doesn't drag at all. |
