My hobie is in need of new pontoons so I have been on the search for some that fit my budget. I found these, are they worthy of fixing if the rest of the fiberglass is solid?

The pic u have needs to be rotated 45 degrees. I need to see the back part of the pontoon. But from what you do have shown, I would say Yes its fixable. Its not below the water line so a bump wont slow ya down to much. |

Thats a tough one/ Lots of forces back there with the rudder. I'd like hull holes better all else equal/ |

Here are more pics. My hobie needs new hulls so I have been shopping around. I am kind of torn between the two I found. One is basically just the trailer, hulls,rudders, trampoline and cross bars...doesn't seem like there are any cracks/soft spots but then again the guy doesn't seem to know what hes talking about. This one is newer, comes with a title ( a definite plus since I don't have one for the boat I have now), trailer, mast, cross bars, trampoline, rudders and mast rigging (basically everything butt sails). Only things are its about an hour farther away then the first one, and it has this bad crack. Both are the same price. More pictures... What do you guys think? I will not be racing anytime soon ( I think), but I would like something that will look nice and last a while.

You're going to have to rebuild the entire transom if you buy that hull. It's not "just a crack". It's a structural problem - the transom is coming off the boat. It's not an impossible repair, but it's not Fiberglass 101, either. A professional repair would cost several hundred $. |
