| Post subject: | Sail stuck in/out of mast track |
So after sailing yesterday, started to bring the sail down and the top of my sail came out of the mast track. Ended up putting her on her side, still stuck!! Really Bad. Had to take out the battens and furl sail around the mast to get home! Any ideas on how i can get the sail back into the track so it can be lowered? Much appreciated! |

Where and how did it come out? Is the top of the sail out, or near the boom? |

Well at first it was just about a 4 inch section that came out near the top, but after she was on her side like 3 feet of the bottom came out. It's really a mess. Very frustrating. I need to get it out of the track soon because i think it's going to rain on Wed. and i don't want the sail just sitting in the rain furled around the mast. I need some suggestions asap. |

Usually you just pull hard and the stuck area just slides down the mast. There is no way to get it back in the track at this point. |

Try a bunch of good lube on the sail and on the mast track and then pull really hard |

happened to me one time, sail came out of top of mast and i couldnt lower it- ended up lowering mast with sail up took out all battons and was able to release sail - all this in the water on the lake shore with a older couple watching and drinking beer. process took a good hour. no probs since then |
