Post subject: | Reriveting hardware on mast... |
...I am wondering what length of those 3/16" stainless rivets are used for the hardware on the mast. I assum that the different locations (e.g. tang, cleats, mast base... will require rivets in different length. Is ther a ruele how much the uncompressed rivet should extend into the mast? Also are there rivet sleeves in differnt length available? It appears that Hobie used some type of tape (!?) between stainless steel and aluminum parts to prevent electrolysis (e.g between the tang and the mast). What could I use in order to replace this stuff??? Thanks, Patrick |

refer to the Hobie Parts catalog, it will provide you with part numbers for each rivet. The call up your favorite Hobie dealer and have them ship you your rivets. Remember that on the mast, most of those rivets also use the sleeves that keep water OUT of the mast. Don't forget those (can't remember what the darn things are called though...guess that's age creeping up on me ![]() |
