I am in the market for a 16(upgrading from my turbo) and was wondering if a 16 would fit on the trailor that I use for my 14. Does anybody have any experience with this? Are there beams vastly different? Thanks, Pete |

The specs for the Hobie 14 here is the beam is 7'8 feet wide, http://www.hcana.hobieclass.com/?Page=2168 Where as the 16 is 7'11, My custom built 16 trailer has a bit more width then the boat, so in my case it would work, however I am not sure about your sitation. How much extra room do you have, if any? Also the 16 being almost 3 feet longer (as the lenght is actually 16'7, you would need to make sure you have the extra tounge length. Would hate to turn a corner and drive the bow into the back of your tow vehicle. Hope this helps. Brent 2005 H-16 S#13566 |

Should work fine. The 16 only has 3" more beam. Most trailers have adjustments for the side bars...loosen the jam bolt and move each one out 1-1/2". What are you going to do with the 14? |

Hi, Thanks for the replies guys! I am almost positive that the trailor has adjustable sidses.. so i am gonna try to move them one peg out, to fit the 16. As for the 14, i was planning on selling it. Its a turbo, and has treated me very very well. I love the boat, but i would like to be able to get my father and i out on the same rig, and the 14 is to tight for the both of us. I would like it to go to a good hobie person, not someone who is gonna trash it.. one of the hiking straps has come off the tramp, but other than that, the boat is in good condition. |

hey petercip Im from wilmington MA You said your 14 is a turbo. How much do you want for the entire boat? Would you be willing to sell the jib by itself? |

I would like to get 500 for it.. she sails well, and the rudders have been recently replaced, and the hulls are solid. I think it would be wrong to part-out a perfectly good boat. |
