Has anyone considered making their own tramp? Ive seen an Instructable about using a truck tarp. The other day i looked over at my unused (jumping) trampoline and got to thinking. Lots of these readily available for cheap or free. It seems pretty tough and long lasting. My 81 hobie is in rough shape and I really dont feel like spending the dough for even an aftermarket tramp. It needs new rigging, the sails are blown, but it still is a blast on a breezy day. Thoughts? |

I'm a fan of the time verses money factor. You save a few bucks but are going to spend a lot of time and still need to buy materials and tools and all that. Then when youre done, it might work ok and last a little while but ultimately it's going to fail. Same with the old rigging, one day it going to leave you on the water and ruin your day. You can get aftermarket tramps for not too much loot, same with rigging too. To me, it's cheap insurance but that's just my 2 pennies, Blair |
