I live in Michigan and the end of March we had a 82 degree day! So we were out last day of MArch and 1st of April sailing the 16. What fun. Picked up a couple wet suits "in case". And got so warm we had to jump in. Found some major stuff - used LIME AWAY or LIME OUT (a couple brands we tried worked) in the "THICK" formula. Squeezed it like dish soap onto a mit sponge and wiped gently over the horribly darkened and stained sides. Within 20 minutes the sites that were NASTY and brown and spotted were pure white! I did this to my old 79 hobie and took off a sailing. Also did it to my 81 and then went into the 3M buffing/rubbing compound. That restored the shine. Anyway a cheap and easy whiter for only about 2.95 a bottle. Was like magic. Don't put it on wet hulls - works best wiped on and left a lone to do it's thing. Shot some videos (with canon point n shoot that's water proof) and will be posting them on my facebook. Look up Ron Kramer ttl |

Nice!! Gonna try the lime away trick! I got out March 7th, in New England!! The water was cold but it's great to have the bay all to myself! |

I Like It! I live in Utah, and we warmed up to a 62 degree day. Got the boat out, unfortunately not much wind, but still worth it! |

We actually had record heat here the other day , almost 90deg F on Boston and I was tempted to go for a sail, my second of the year btw, but the water is still mid 40s. That means I've gotta put wetsuit, gloves, boots and spray suits to cover, but the air is so warm, I sweat my booty off, but the waters so cold, it gives you an ice cream headache when you get splashed! In short, it's probably better when the temps are a little closer together, even if the airs a little cooler. 60s would be ok! |
