Post subject:  Stolen Parts

I need to blow off some steam after this week so I am starting this thread. I don't need suggestions or "maybe this happened-s". Post your stories too if you have been screwed.

April 10th - Eagle Creek Reservoir, Indianapolis IN hands out keys to hobie beach. :o
April 12th - Drop off my boat at the designated spot
April 14th - Head to site after work for a quick trip  My whole steering assembly is gone, rudders tossed aside.

I payed $400 for a beat up '73 Hobie 16 + Trailer. If I order all the parts I need from a catalog it will cost almost $700 not including shipping. Obviously I am looking for used parts and will probably find them, but it will never make up for the raging anger or sleepless nights I will now have for the rest of the season because out here Eagle Creek is the only choice for sailing. No doubt someone out there has a story worse than mine?

I bought four bottles of a fancy Belgian beer made with brettanomyces yeast and properly stored and aged it for two years, and when I opened them they were spoiled.

Last November my wife's whole car was stolen from in front of our house and recovered two days later completely stripped.

Anyone here give their life's savings to Bernie Madoff?

Earlier this week in my home town four people were murdered in four separate incidents within 48 hours.

Sucks to be you.

For $100 / year, you could have had insurance cover it. Still might be covered under your homeowner's policy. Then, you'd just be out the deductible.

Keep an eye on eBay for the parts. They come up all the time. You might even see yours

Mine fell off in the lake near my house if you want to go look for it! Free! Thieves suck but they will get what they deserve sooner or later.
