Should I drill out the rivit, not sure its a rivit, ( the pin that hold the cam onto the lower casting) on the cam and just drop in a new plunger? is this rivit a standard item?

should i rebuild the whole thing while I,m doing this?

thanks,

Usually the plunger won't come out the top unless the casting is very coroded. You need to get the nylon screw out of the bottom. If you are replacing the plunger, you usually need a new nylon screw. They can be very hard to get out. Some need to be drilled or melted out. Then use a tap to clean up the threads and grease the new one heavily with waterproof grease.

I see cams replaced all the time. Why do you need to replace the plunger?

cheers
Bill
