Your question makes no sense. First you say your step link is missing then you say you have a new one. Which is it? What is a rivet pin? You shouldn't need to drill anything to step the mast. You might need to post a photo.

As far as I know the pin doesn't have a specific name other than unofficially the "mast link hinge pin." It's part of the mast step link kit, PN 21380001. When you use the term "rivet" you're talking about something else entirely which is throwing us off.

I can't tell for sure but it sounds like you're talking about the two holed pivot bracket that the pin goes through (that has holes for the H14 and H16), then through the mast base, and then back through the two holed pivot bracket. Does that sound right?

The pin doesn't go through the mast step on your front crossbar, it goes through the mast base on the mast. It connects to the mast step by way of the two holed pivot bracket and this is what the mast hinges on when raising the mast.

A picture would be good, yes.

I should have clarified, the pivot hinge bracket is attached to the mast step with a shorter pin, and then a pin of the same diameter and longer attaches the mast base to the pivot bracket. In short, you need the hinge with two holes and two pins, one short, one long. If you look at page 47 of the new catalog you can see the one line drawing of the kit showing all the pieces.

If you have a pin (rivet) in the step casting, this is an old boat. Drill out the end of that pin and punch put of the casting. The instructions with the kit should show the necessary modifications to make it work. We now use a bolt and nut to connect the link to the casting. Then a long 1/4" diameter pin to insert into the mast base. This can be a phillips head screw driver in a pinch.
