Post subject: | Dolphin striker- how tight? |
This summer one of our 16's front crossmembers because one of the nuts on the dolphin striker was missing, when i replaced the crossmember i made sure to put both nuts on but i still dont know how much to tighten them, any help? |

obviously the dolphin striker must be fairly tight in order to minimize hull movement, but can it be overtightened, short of cracking the castings? any help would be greatly appreciated. |

You want it tight enough to go "thummm" when you hit it with your hand. If it "clanks," it's not tight enough. If you're using a regular 8" long crescent wrench, it's tough to get it too tight, unless you're a gorilla. |
