Greetings. I have been lurking around this forum for several years but have never posted. I fear that if I don't post, my new boat will sit in the driveway far too long! I recently picked up a '94 H16 that appears to be in good shape. It is supposed to be ready to sail. I have checked over everything as good as I know how, thanks to info I was able to find here. Buying the boat with little history of sailing was adventurous enough. Self rigging and attempting to sail her is just a bit over the top. I am hoping to find someone in the Salt Lake area with quite a bit of experience who might be willing to help me rig and sail my new boat a time or two before I head out with my wife/kids. I would really like to hook up with someone who knows these boats backwards and forwards, including various rigging options, etc. I prefer NOT to learn lessons when things pop, buckle or snap. I have been a hand on a few varied boats, and I have a strong working knowledge of sailing, yet I have nowhere near the experience or confidence I will need to rig and sail my own boat. Lastly, I sure appreciate the members of this forum and all the information that is willingly shared. I have been (and will continue to be) a "taker" for some time, though I do hope to be able to give back some time down the road. |

if ur prob is not sure on the rigging check out youtube.com and just search hobie cat 16 rigging or what not and u can find many vids that will show u how to do it. but if i lived around u i would have no problem showing u but if u have a particulare rigging problem i can break out my vid cam and make a vid for u (gives me an excuse to get my boat out on the water) |
