Does anyone have any good tips for restoring my Hobie 14. The trampoline is tight but weathered. Can I use Armor-all or something of the like on the trampoline? Can I use boat wax on the hulls? Can I soak the ropes in anything to soften them up or is it best to buy new?

Thanks in advance.

I would say ArmourAll on your tramp will make it look nice, for a while, but make it super slippery, which you don't want. There's nothing worse that sliding off the tramp to leeward when a puff comes and your not in the hiking strap! ( been there!)

I'd also replace lines as soon as your budget permits. There's nothing worse than a great day of sailing ruined by a shredded line or one that's so tattered that it keeps hanging up in your blocks and messing up your smooth sailing form.

Oh, and check all the rigging too, it usually needs replacing after 5-8 years, depending upon use and storage condtions.

Good luck and enjoy the ride!
