I have just aquired my first boat, a '92 Hobie 16 and am looking for some advice as a newcomer. Although with some sailing experience, I have never actually rigged a beach cat before. With the help of the assembly manual, I finally managed to step the mast and raise the sails in my driveway (and without wrecking the boat or cracking anyone's skull!). I would like to have someone knowledgable check the craft out before I actually sat sail. We are planning a trip to Destin Florida this week. Does anyone know of a dealership in this area that may be able to provide some assistance? Thank you. EL Sylacauga, AL |

There's actually an event happening this weekend July 11-13, just across the bridge in Ft. Walton Beach. It is the youth multihull championships being sailed on Hobie 16's out of the Ft. Walton Beach Yacht Club. They'll have 10 brand new Hobie 16's there for the kids to sail. Try to stop by and check them out and get some rigging tips. |
