We are in Sacramento.
I purchased a 1974 Hobie 16' cat for my teenage boys. The boat seems to be in good shape but it needs miscellaneous parts such as the base of the mast, the step kit, batten pockets, and battens. My previous sailing experience has been on a Lightning, an old wooden sloop, 40 years ago. So I am looking for someone in this area who would be willing to evaluate the boat and tell us what else it might need. Also looking for others in the area from whom the boys might learn the finer points of sailing. I have never sailed on a cat (they always looked like more fun).
There is a Hobie dealer listed in this area, however he has not responded to my email or phone calls. His telephone message says that store hours are Saturday 10-2, a time that won't work for us.
What is the easiest way to hook up with the Hobie community in my area?
