The halyard stop closest to the sail is constantly staying in the mast track and getting stuck when raising the main. When I remove it, the next time I drop the main it goes right back In the track. It is supposed to happen?

Keep some tension on the halyard line as you lower the sail. What is happening to you is the halyard is fully released and the wire slumps against the mast track, which allows the bead to enter the track.

If it goes into the track, there's a simple solution to getting it out:

With the sail off the halyard, tie the loose end of the halyard to the shackle.
"Raise" the halyard back up the mast. Don't put any tension on the aft side.
When the bead clears the track, the wind drag on the line will blow it clear of the mast.
Lower back down.

If you're leaving the boat mast up, tie the halyard off to the trapezes to prevent slapping, or use a bungee cord between the halyard and shroud to pull it away from the mast.

There's nothing more annoying than hearing that "ding-ding-ding" of a slapping halyard all night long. It'll also wear the mast and halyard.
