Jus came back from an awesome day of sailing...went down to my club to be greeted by 2 knots of winds, left the place with 14 knot gusts;) Anyways...twin wiring, with a lot of flying...can be amazing fun....not so fun is getting dragged behind the boat when a wave hits and pushes u over....(note to self: need to get shoes) Speaking of shoes...I seem to have stepped on some barnacles whilst bare foot pulling the hobie up a ramp...and my feet still hurt from the cuts..and so on...They dont seem like deep cuts...but are barnacles at all THAT bad? (ow). later |

The best cure i have found for barnacle cuts is to stay in the salt water, it seems to help them heal faster and keep them from getting sore, but maybe that is just my excuse to stay on the boat longer. btw, where are you sailing out of? |

Sea water has all sorts of nasty critters that can infect your cuts. Best thing to do is use some antiboitic ointment on them (Neosporin) and cover them for a couple of days with Band-Aids until they seal up. If you go sailing, cover the Band-Aids with duct tape to keep them on and change them when you're done for the day. |

I have spent my summers in the sounds of NC for 17 years and in the past ten years or so I have developed a real aversion to wearing shoes, obviously i receive more than my fair share of cuts and i cant remember the last time i wore a bandaid, muchless a bandaid over a cut with neosporin and covered by Duct tape and i still have all of the appendages I started out with, they could all fall off tommorow but untill they do I'm gonna keep right on leavin my cuts open in the water, but thats just my opinion |
