Post subject:  FNG Says Howdy from Plum Island MA

Hi all,

Newto the forum and I just replaced my 16 which I sold while living in AZ with a replacement which I bought used with trailer here in MA. Left the state 17 years ago and returned to be near water after 17 years in deserts. The boat had faded orange hulls, aluminum mast, a tramp without rips but also missing hiking straps. The rudders are discolored on the trailing edge but overall the boat seems to be all there. My original 16 had Tequila Sunrise sails and I used to race it down in FL. I may need to buy some replacement parts so any recommendations on used parts would be appreciated. I've got to do some work on the trailer prior to taking it on the road. Actually I rented a trailer to carry the trailer and boat home. Also looking for a cat trax for getting the boat down to the ocean (fouth house from the ocean is where I live). At any rate thanks all. Oh, I just turned 58 so that means I started taking sailing lessons 50 years ago. I used to teach up in Maine as well as a youth. The earlier 16 was sold to help finance a motorcycle.

PS. My name is Lee Fisk.

Welcome! FNG, haven't heard that for a while. Brings back some good memories of working at Longs Drugs in High School.

You'll find a lot of help here in the forums.

Hey Surfcity,

I see you're from Santa Cruz; what a great area. I used to know the Commodore of the Yacht Club there (business connection). At any rate we just moved from the West Coast from Bend, OR and ended up back east.

The list of items I need help with on the boat will grow, for now I wish I knew how to replace hiking straps and a good place to shop for online parts.

Thanks,

Lee
