What do you guys think? I am looking for something that at the very least does not have a polypropolene cover. That way the cover will not break down due to exposure to the sun.

Could I use the New England Ropes Spyderline that is 3.8 mm in diameter?

I really like cool factor of the line that is seen in this lace instruction.

Any idea what kind of line was used??

That is the stock standard line now. We get line "kits" from Australia. I'm not even sure of the type or diameter, but 3.8 mm would be fine. I think our line is under 3.2

Thanks for the info Matt. I looked in the catalog and all I saw was shockcord. I'm guessing you guys don't sell your line through the catalog. Have a good one and thanks again for your response.

Why dosent Hobie USA and its dealers sale the new style line that is sold with the new boats. they only carry the standard 1/4 and 3/16 low stretch, and soft spun. as line on new boats wear , sailors want to replace with same new line. plus other sailors want to UP grade to new stuff.

Good question... The line come from our Aussie factory. The contract for line kit pre-cut. We just have not connected with the source for bulk line to sell in the US. Maybe next catalog.

As long as its competitively priced, I believe people favor hobie replacement parts over what is out in the market place. Especially if you could get new lines branded with the Hobie H style logo somehow repeating in the cover. People would buy that, and it would reinforce branding of the Hobie name!! :D All that advice for free since you have given me a free consult!!

I'm not saying get into the line business, but to contract with someone who already makes your line.
