One of my hulls gets water in it after sailing for a few hours. It drains fast for maybe 10 sec then drips. I need to look into sealing it and repairing the bottoms. My problem is that when the water comes out it pushes clear flakes of something with it. I'm not sure what it is. Anyone know? Hulls have no soft spots but do show some keel wear. |

Mine does too. I'm pretty sure it's normal. |

My 18 has plastic wrapped around the foam inside. The plastic has deteriorated to a point where it flakes off in little pieces. Brittle |

The foam flotation blocks are installed with polyethylene bags over them to keep the polyester resin fumes from attacking the foam when the boats are assembled. Once the resin has fully cured, the bags no longer serve any purpose, but it's impossible to remove them. Eventually, the polyethylene bags get brittle and start to break up. It's no big deal - just make sure the drain plug hole is kept clear. |
