I was towed this weekend and slightly bent my dolphin striker about 1" to port. What's the best solution? Is this reparable? Is it only advisable to replace it? Anybody have any experience with this? Thanks in advance! |

The rod coming down from the mast step? or the rod that goes from starboard or port castings? just give it some whacks with a mallet. Its pretty thick, it wont break. |

Thanks s30series, its the vertical striker vice the horizontal striker rod. I'm not so concerned about damaging the rod itself, it's the cross bar and mast step that I'm concerned about. |

I've bent 3 back with no known issues. One, a skipper hit a mooring ball at full speed. He didn't see it in the waves. I heated the striker up with a torch and bent it back with a gloved hand. Don't whack it the shock could blow out the threads on the mast step. Don't ask me how I know. |

Thanks Jeremy. What gas did you use? I have mapp but I doubt it would be hot enough for a stainless this thick. |

Iused oxy/ace, but just use the mapp and get it as hot as you can. Try not to get the Xbar. |
