Just personal preference. I use the $5 for 50' ΒΌ" rope from Wal-Mart and it works fine. :)

Jaime's right, but, as earlier posts have stated, a tight rig is best for performance, and the tramp is part of tightening the rig.

Its really a matter of personal preference. Have used both and the only issue was keeping the tramp tight with the line vs shcok cord. I always seemed to be tighting it up every couple of weekends while the shock cord was more of a tighten it and forget it.

I tighetened the crap out of my tramp with the Wal-Mart rope about 18 months ago and I haven't noticed any significant loosening. Dunno. :o

I don't like the Nylon or Shock cord. They both streach. I use Dacron line. A little more expensive, but it requires less retightening.

Next time I lace the tramp I'll probably still use the Wal-Mart rope but I will also use the mainsheet-sidebar-bending technique. I've tried to contact the Tampa Bay company but like most people they have yet to get back to me. :?
