When you install the access port, do you cut all the way thru both layers of glass ? Has anyone tried using the expandable foam in a can in the soft spots ? How about the type of spray in foam in a bass boat hull ? I thought about scooping/scraping out as much of the softened foam I could reach & spraying in a minimal expanding foam. It gets pretty hard, but its no epoxy.Let me know what you think,,,

When installing ports, you will cut all the way through the fiberglass sandwich. You should be able to see inside your hull. Do not use the spray foam. You must use some type of epoxy or "git rot".

The foam is not a good adhesive and does not penetrate deep into the fibers of the foam and fiberglass. Spray foam will not solve your problem and may make things worse, when you later try and fix it using the correct method.

Good luck,
