Post subject: | Righting Line |
Hi All, In talking with a friend this morning the subject of righting lines came up. He suggested that I use a line secured to the mast tang and cleated to the lower part of the mast with enough extra to reach from the lower hull. He claims to have used it successfully for a long time. It makes sense to me that it would provide a lot of leverage being attached 2/3 of the way up the mast. It sounds line the same system that uses the shrouds and extensions. Any thoughts? Ed |

That is an odd one. Just tie to the pylons or to the middle of the crossbar. Toss a loose end over the hull if you want, but not necessary. I don't think routing up the mast gains you anything. |

I agree with Matt. The hull is already attached to the mast tang via the shroud, so attaching the line to the pylon essentially does the same thing as attaching it to the mast tang. |
