| Post subject: | Mast Base Repair |
I have read previous posts on repair/replacement of mast base. I did not note if you should or should not use rivet caps in this application. I have read in this forum that rivet caps should be used any time you penetrate the mast, however this is below the internal mast plug. ????? |

Caps are not necessary for the mast base. That area of the mast gets wet by design. The mast base does not form a perfect seal to the mast. |
