I'm 5'8" and I've righted my Tiger by myself. No bags, poles, shroud extenders, etc.

Just blowing like snot - maybe 20 in the puffs.

Especially since it involved your sister - who was incapacitated at the time, thus the solo right.

She got to ride the lower hull up - I had to haul myself up over the front crossbar - no mean feat on el Tigre.

Back to the original subject, though - What matters most in righting is technique, not height. There are a lot of factors that influence how difficult it will be to right the boat. Wind velocity / wave action is probably the most influential.

Hey I havent managed to solo right a hobie and im about 5'8". I cant move the damn thing AT ALL. I weigh abt 140 pounds.

I think the min weight requirements are like 120 kilos for the youth or something...and abt 130 for the normal leagues...

meh so abt 60+60 shud do alright i assume....

PS Anyone have any DIY righting bag ideas?

I heard of people who line an old backpack with a plastic trash bag. They wear the bag and fill it with water. I would think this makes climbing onto the hull more difficult, but you could always use the bag like you would a commercial righting bag.
