I just bought a beautiful '81 16 from a guy who had kept it in his garage for the last 15 year and he gave me a bunch of extra rigging and other lines... anyway, the rig pictured here came with it and I am not experienced enough to guess what it does. Anybody know what this is? ![]() |

It's a righting line setup. Those four blocks get tied to each pylon and the usually tied from back left pylon around the front two pylons and back to the right rear. The blue and white line is a shock cord, right? The other line is probably to take up the slack. |

Mostly right. The black line is the shock cord; the blue line is the actual righting line. The small loops on the ends of the blue line go between the rudder casting and the gudgeon, captured by the rudder pin. |
