I need to order the lo-pro jib block for my 77 H16. I'm pretty sure I'm after the part 1075. I'm replacing a tweaked old stainless version of the same thing. I have no inboard fixed unit, just the car/cleat combo and the whole operation moves in the track. Where does a fella order this part from? The Hobie catalog has prices and parts, but no ordering info(?). I'm in Montana if that helps. Thanks Hobie forum community!! bones. |

You're supposed order them and then wait weeks for their next shipment to the dealer. If you don't live near the dealer then you burn $60 in gas to get there (round trip) or pay additional shipping to your home. And no...living in Montana probably doesn't help at all. I'm in Montana if that helps. You can order most Hobie parts online from Murrays. Even if you don't see what you need, input the Hobie part number in the search field and it will probably come up. |

Hobie Hassle? The catalog says 1(800)HOBIE-49 or http://www.hobiecat.com for your closest dealer. Use the online dealer finder: http://www.hobiecat.com/support/dealers/search/ I'd guess that for 99.999% of you guys... Murrays is a LOT farther away than every other dealer in the country. Talk about a long drive. A lot of dealers do online sales, most (all) do phone and email sales and all of them have access to our drop-ship offer. Order from your dealer and ask to have the parts shipped direct from the factory (direct to you). No delay, we ship most orders the same day as the order is received by us. Remember too... Murrays is NOT an authorized dealer and has to order Hobie parts from some other Hobie dealer in the US to get you the parts you need. |

Don't know about Western Canada...don't live there. Fogh Marine in Toronto is an awesome dealer, mostly next day UPS delivery, sometimes when they are jammed, the day after next day UPS.... and they carry a huge inventory, and are very good to deal with. I hear good things about Sextant Marine in Quebec City too. Matt M., (and others), when Canadians buy from the US, there will be no duty payable, however there will be HST payable upon importation. (that's the Canadian Federal Sales Tax). So UPS and Fedex etc will prepay the HST (at the rate for your province), and then charge you the HST plus a $25 or $30 admin fee for doing that work. Curiously, shipping by USPS means that Canada Post delivers, and they don't hit you with that admin fee, just the HST. Like my friends at CRA say, 'if it moves, tax it!'. Same problem when buying on eBay. Hope this helps. |

John, that's only true for items made in US or Mexico. I got a salty duty tab from Cabelas for purchasing stuff made in China. Yes Fogh Marine looks good. Only found them after placing my order a month ago with a dealer in Quebec. Since I already put a 50% deposit on my order, I did not bother to cancel it. Fogh's prices are slightly higher, but they had all the components I needed in stock. It's not sailing season, so it's not a big deal to wait. I won't have the same opinion if they are not here by May. |

Murray's carrys them. Matt is right Murray's does have to order Hobie parts from Hobiecat, and they DO. They have most catalogue items in stock and can ship overnight when needed. Very seldom have they had to back order for me. |

Always try to work through your local dealer if there is one close. It's good for the sport and helps keep em in business. Drop shipments to your house from Ca is a piece of cake. |
