After raising both sails yesterday, I see that the Jib passes about 8 inches aft past the mast. So the question is, what happens in actual sailing when the Jib is passed side to side on turns ? I guess the wind will help pushing it forward and clearing the mast, or I`m I doing something wrong ? |

no, you got it right. sometimes in light wind you might have to help it through on tacks. As far as the main going up hard, make sure the luff track is clean.Check the comptip track sometimes it gets beat up from trailering. Some just go up hard. You can spray the luff as it goes up with a "dry lube" spray http://www.mclubemarine.com/sailkote/ You can get a dry spray lubricant at your local hardware store. |

Johnnymoto - Sometime, in the future, you might want to consider installing Jib Batten Hinges on the top two battens if you have a hard time getting the jib to the other side on a tack in light winds.
