Good morning all, I am copying the recommended setup for the 16 halyard, by adding a cheek block at the bottom of the mast in front and a cheek block and a medium cam cleat with curved riser on the port side of the mast. My question is, that with the stock cam cleat it comes with 2 X 1.5 inch ss screws, so will that also be long enough with the riser pad in place? What fasteners have others used with this setup? Also any modifications that folks have come across in terms of positioning on the mast etc. to improve performance

Cheers
Jeremy

I finally got that riser pad for my cam cleat.I also have two cheek blocks.Once again, where do they mount?
One cheek block mounts just above the mast base on the front.
The other cheek blocks mounts on the port side of the mast but how far up from the base?
And the cam cleat on the riser pad mounts between the cheat block and the horn but where?
After all of this is installed on my 1981 Hobie 16,what have I gain?
Is my gain that I am centering the load of the jib on my mast instead of to one side (port) of the mast which creates an uneven twist?Or am I wasting my time and money.I don't have an assie setup on jib just the original setup.I am trying to slowly make my old 16 more current. This 16 only gets used a couple of times each year since I have learned to solo sail my 21SE....
Please post measurements from the base up,thanks.
