Post subject:  trap wire parts question

I am looking for the name of the trap set up that acts like a stopper,(figure 8) on the lower part of my trap set, and what is it made of. I have the standard trap wire and handle and a small Harken block, small line through the block to my dog bone, on the other end of this line I will conect the bungie cord.

I have been in the shop trying every type of plastic that I can find, and I have a lot of different types. But, they either break, (too brittle) or the line cuts through before I get all of my weight on the bog bone, (too soft) :x so what is this part made from???

Thanks
Don

Don - It sounds like the part you're looking for is called a "Rope Lock" part #61530000. It only coat $2.50. You'll need 4 of them, so $10 + tax....
It's probably hard plastic or nylon????
You're getting off light this time.

Good luck!

Richard.
I guess I overlooked that part, all I could find was the whole set up. So I looked for materials to build my own. The shape and size was easy to develope but the proper material has eluded me. I have tried ABS, PVC , what apears to be derlin but was black and I even found one of my old router base plates that is made of some slick composite material.
So the search go on.... then when all else fails I'll order them.
