Taking a poll: Can I use quick pins on the Forestay to chainplate & Main Block to traveller? If so, what pin(s) from Murrays are recommended? |

I use one on the block/traveler. I keep it leashed to the block so I don't lose it. Not sure which one at Murrays but I think its 3/16" |

Crieke, Quick pins are the way to go!!! I use several; it makes setting up and tearing down my boat so much faster, which means more time to SAIL. Here's what I use: 1/4 x .5 for attaching the jib tack to the 10-hole adjuster (chain plate?) 1/4 x .75 for pinning the forestay to chain plate when stepping the mast 1/4 x 1.00 for attaching the hiking stick to the tiller crossbar 3/16 x .75 for attaching main block to travel car I have each one leashed also so they don't go in the drink if they happen to slip out of my hands. I also use a small SS carabiner (vs a shackle) on my jib halyard for easy on/off when raising/lowering my jib. The SS quick pins aren't too cheap, but they are definitely worth it. Ciao |
