I was sailing Newport Bay (California) today. Richard Branson's Cat is in port (mast is missing in the pic). What does it have that my H16 does not? - Well a submarine that rides up under and deploys when at anchor.  Check out a video of this cat - it is reefed and still screaming fast. I was told ( I was taking a week long keelboat class in Newport) by a local sailing instructor the "Playstation" cat and Branson's "Oceanic" cat are the same. Started as Playstation (Cheyenne), then was sold to be used as the film boat for the Disney movie Morning Light. Now its to be used as a sub platform to dive the 5 deepest spots in the 5 oceans. more about it here: http://www.virginoceanic.com/vehicles/catamaran/ |
